Temptu Airbrush * Battery Powered Airbrush | Unboxing And Spray Test
We know about the durability temptu airbrush, we know where they’ll fail and that’s all things that we’ll discuss in today’s video reviewing our favorite goto air brush and our favorite goto compressor, so some of the factors that really went into deciding what was going to be our goto air brush was a horse, the cost and this is a great value era, she could pick one of these up for eighty dollars right off Amazon, this is gonna be the badger picture at one oh five there’s a few options that you can pick from on Amazon, we know this is the same, you guys like to buy a lot of your products, so we wanted to make sure it was available on there so you could pick one of these up just the air brush itself for eighty dollars there is a couple other kids that you purchase airbrush makeup.Which will come with hoses and other different attachments, but just the air brush itself, you can get for eighty dollars which is a killer value for something like this that holds up for quite a while, it’s a great workhorse I use it for long periods of time every single day and it really holds up well so now opening it up we have obviously our basic instruction guide, this is going to be a dual action internal mix gravity feed air brush, it has a one third ounce cup, um that is permanent on the top sometimes you’ll get air brushes where this top cap can screw off, but this one it’s permanently attached, we have a couple different caps right on top of this pink cup I tend to not use this I tend to not keep it, you can go ahead and put this on after every single time you’re switching on a new paint or something like that, but I just go ahead keep that off we also have a nice little cap for the needle, which is nice, this is a great feeling, air brush like I said, this is comfortable after holding it for long periods of time and if you’re not familiar with how.Brushwork, so obviously the trigger is the main component of everything, this controls the amount of paint that’s going to be coming out right here and the amount of paint that’s going to come out is going to be affected by how hard you’re pressing down and how far you’re pulling back, so if you don’t want a lot of pink coming out, you’re gonna push down slightly and barely pull back, but if you’re trying to do some broader strokes, that’s when you’re going to be pulling back and this is when you’ll get the most amount of paint coming out through your needle tip, so what we’re working with here is a point, fifty milliliter nozzle tip now what this means is it’s not going to be the tiniest you’re not going to be able to get the world smallest detailed strokes but you’re going to get a nice wide range in my opinion and really perfect for shoes, you’re gonna be able to get some nice broad strokes to handle the main portions of the shoe, but if you ever need to get in and do any tiny detail work or any stuff within portraits or not, it’s also going to be small enough to handle some of the main reason that I’m really Pro air brushing over paint brushes I think that you can get through a little bit more and.Time if you’re potentially working on multiple shoes at a time or like I always say you’re allowing dry time you’re allowing paint to dry on one pair of shoes, you could always move onto the next pair of shoes that you’re working on get a couple coats in and then you’ll just be able to keep continuously working rather than literally sitting there waiting for paint to dry, so for those of you that are really interested in picking one of these up we decided that we want to go ahead break this down piece by piece and just kind of talk about what each of the pieces do so if we start at the rear we’re gonna go ahead and just unscrew this little handle what this does is just kind of put a little cover over the back of the needle and start to cover up some of these other valves next we have our needle locking nuts, so what this nut does right here is keep the needle from being able to move at all, and if your needle is potentially pulled back at all, what would happen is you’re just gonna get that same amount of pain flow that you get here and it’s most compressed state by just lightly pressing there’s no way for the paint to regulate how much is coming out if your needle is.And pushed all the way forward, so this is a very important piece, this needle locking nut, so after we unscrew that needle locking nut, we can now pull out the needle and you’ll see that you always want to keep this nice and clean and you never want to get this compressed down or anything, if your needle was to ever hit the table and bender any shape like that you’re no longer gonna get a perfectly straight pay claw so you really want to protect this piece, it’s very important, the next piece that we’re going to unscrew right here is going to be our needle to and what this does is allow the needle to pass through go straight through the body and out through the front, so we’re gonna go ahead and screw this off, there’s quite a few smaller pieces inside but for the most part you don’t necessarily need to break this down and clean it, this isn’t where the air brush fails at least in my opinion so you can guys go ahead and keep these a three to four little pieces that are inside of this little trap together so you’ll see that there is an alignment that you need to make we have a half. Inside of here, and if you have this piece twisted at all, you can’t get it to pull back through the half circle, so if you see that half circle there need to make sure that it is aligned with this piece so this piece when a line properly should be able to pull back and forth super easily, so once we then have that needle tube disassembled, now the triggers loose and can fall out real easily so you’ll see with our trigger, this is where the needle will pass directly through so the next piece that we have in here is our back lever and so what, this piece does is this allows the trigger to go back and forth, and constantly pushes it forward so that it always goes into the most forward retracted position, so this is also an equally important piece that you need to make sure it’s lined up properly so you’ll see that it has this curve and this curve, we want to make sure is always facing towards the front of the eye brush, so now you see that the curve is backwards, this is the improper way to put it in so I’m gonna go.Ahead and show you with this overhead, the proper way to place it back in so we have the curve facing forward and you’re just gonna drop it through this horizontal alignment. And then you would place the trigger right in front of it so you’ll see that it fits in pretty cleanly there it’s a little loose obviously without any of the other pieces inside are needle tube are triggered, but this is the alignment for the back lever, okay, now we have basically everything removed from the rear end of the air brush, now we’re getting towards almost holding just the body and then all the little tiny attachments towards the front, so now let’s move on to those so here we have our spray regulator which you can just remove with just your fingertips, that’s enough pressure and what this does is this is the furthest point where the needle comes out, and then this is going to really help keep the path of your paint in a nice I’m kind of funneling effect, if you don’t have this piece on um, the paint isn’t going to spray as much and that nice clean controllable funneling type look that you expect to come out of your air brush, so this is also an equally important piece that you want to keep clean paint will tend to dry up on the front of this and so this is something that you.Need to constantly keep clean, whether it be with a little q tip in acetone, if you’re doing a long period a long session of air brushing, this is an area where some paint can build up over time for sure the next piece here is going to be our head cap now this can’t be pulled off with just enough fingertip pressure, so I like to always keep a pair of pliers nearby, um, a lot of air brushes tend to come with little Allen wrenches or little types of pieces that will be strong enough to pull this up, this one doesn’t come out with it, but if you can always just keep a simple pair of pliers nearby you’ll be able to take this off and you need to make sure that when you take this off and put it back on you are also tightening it with pliers, otherwise you won’t get the same, um.Clean air flow paint flows that you’re hoping for now after you take this off, we’re going to have two pieces inside we’re going to have the head cap and then we’re also going to have our needle cap which is probably the most important piece of this whole thing and this is where the needle goes directly through so let’s go ahead and show you here, our needle is going to pass right through there and what can happen with a long session of air brushing is paint can dry up in here so you want to keep an extra air brush needle nearby and sometimes you might need to take that extra old needle and just kind of push out any extra paint that gets built up in there so this is one area if you’re having some problems with your brush, you definitely want to check this out, make sure that it’s nice and clean and you don’t have any paint build up inside of here, so now we’re working with just the body of the air brush and this is a great time where you want to pull out some of these pipe cleaners that are easily attached on this little chain, you can purchase these from harbor freight also there’s plenty.Buy on Amazon too, they’re just little simple pipe cleaners at the end but they come in a few different sizes and these are great to go ahead and just push through the air brush and just get out any extra paint buildup now here at the bottom of our air brush, this is what we’re gonna go ahead and call the complete valve this you also have to detach with a pair of pliers and there’s quite a few different little pieces to this, so like I said, this is called a complete valve, so what happens is our trigger is going to go ahead and press down this little valve right here, and what can happen over time is if too much paint gets built up built up on here it’s no longer going to press up the trigger as much so you’ll be wondering my air brush seems to be stuck, I’m constantly spitting out too much paint I can never get it to spray out the correct amount that I’m hoping for it seems to just be spraying the full amount the entire time it’s because this little valve right, here is d compressed too much instead of.Springing right back up like you’ll see it’s just gonna be decompressed down because too much pink is built upon here, so sometimes this is an extra little piece that you need to go ahead and replace so I use this air brush all the time and I have a couple of these complete valves around just in case anything ever goes wrong, this is an area where you know after six months or a year or so this is something that just gets kind of beat up over time and it’s something that you’re gonna wanna go ahead and replace so it’s a little spare part that you’ll want to keep around just in case you need to keep things moving, so here we have the air brush completely broken down, it’s pretty cool to see and I just want to point out the areas where the air brush tends to fail or where you know you need to do any troubleshooting, these are the first areas you want to look you always want to make sure that you don’t have any paint built up occurring on here you want to make sure that the inside of your needle cap is always clean, there’s no dried up paint and you want to make sure that this like I said this complete valve, this little spring is popping.Right back up and that’s going to be able to make sure that the trigger is constantly being pressed up and down correctly so that you can get that perfectly even painful other than that some of the other pieces you know you don’t need to replace them that’s not why you’re air brushes failing that’s not why anything isn’t working properly, but those three little pieces that I pointed out are the first areas you want to look if anything ever isn’t working properly, so now real quickly just to show you guys we’re gonna go ahead and throw a time around the clock and let’s go ahead and see how quickly I can put this back together so there you have it obviously not too bad once it’s something that you work with every single day I think that an air brush can look a lot of pieces and it can look a little overwhelming and complex and kind of worrisome to use that, who knows how I’m going to be able to use this and understand all these parts but they’re really simple, once you start using them a whole lot more so it’s nothing that you need to be afraid of a they’re really fun to play around with it’s something that obviously you’ve kind of always seen potentially walking through.I’m all, I’m seeing people do air brushing on t-shirts and you’ve always potentially wanted to play with, that’s what I always thought growing up and then once I started doing these on shoes, there are a lot of fun and these are a great tool to have in your Arsenal for sure, now real quickly I wanted to talk about a compressor, also I don’t want to spend as much time as we did on the air brush with the compressor, but this is also a great value compressor, you could pick one of these up from harbor freight for seventy dollars if you don’t have a harbor freight nearby I think that the compressor is a little bit less important than the air brush, but you can pick one of these upper seventy I wouldn’t go much less if you’re potentially just looking for a different one on Amazon are so seventies a great price point, if you need to have multiples of them, if there’s multiple people working in the studio or something like that this is a great one, it’s also not very loud, it’s not a it doesn’t overheat or anything like that these hold up really well I’m gonna show you a new one fresh out of the box and I’m also going to show you the same one that I’ve been using for probably close to three years now, so I’m sure that this is a pretty.Funny sight to see, but here we have one fresh out of the box, this is a one six running horsepower maximum of 58 PS I oil, this air brush compressor, like I said it’s pretty quiet doesn’t overheat, this is obviously a total work horse as you could tell by this one like I estimated is probably about three or four years old, um, if you’re wondering what PC to use with your air brush I tend to recommend recommend around thirty PS I we have this easy to read pressure gauge right here which you will be able to set by twisting this so this is a super easy to use air brush, so there is one little attachment that you need with this air brush hose that does come with the compressor, so this is an old one, I’m going to go ahead and show you how this connects onto the new one.And then we’re going to take our new air brush and you’ll see that it doesn’t line up perfectly, so this is the hose that comes with the compressor and so now we need a little adapter to connect our air brush to this hose, so here we have this little adapter that allows your badger air brush to connect to the typical one eighth inch air brush hose that you’ll see a lot of the times, you do need this, if you wanted to go ahead and pick up the kids that are on Amazon that come with the badger air brush holds what will then happen is you won’t be able to connect to this specific compressor, so either way at some point you need to buy a little adapter, so we’re going to have this link down below all you do is connect this to the bottom of the air brush and then you’ll see that it’s gonna now be super easy to connect the end of our air brush hose screw, that on and now we’re ready to go, let’s go ahead.Get this plugged in and show you guys what this entire setup sounds like I’m gonna go ahead and try to scoop this as close as possible to the microphone so you guys can hear it start pressing back to get some air flow and this is a pretty quiet setup, it’s obviously on a tabletop to so if you have this on the ground something nice and solid you’re not gonna get a lot of noise, a lot of rumbling it has these nice little rubberized feet which keep it nice and quiet, if it’s running for a long time awesome, so like I said great little setup. And all of this can be had for under a hundred fifty dollars which is a beautiful price point, if you’re just starting out or if you potentially have multiple people working in your studio, you need a couple different setups to be able to have multiple setups 450 dollars I think that’s a great price point to be at so this one may seem like a lot for right now, this was a really long video, but we really wanted to go ahead and give you guys that in-depth breakdown about the air brush talk about all the little things that you need to know of where it may fail where you need to troubleshoot and just give you guys, our honest opinion on if this is a good gun or not or what you should be starting out with if you’re just starting out and you’re wanting to take that next leap into potentially air brushing moving up from hand painting, maybe business is growing a bit I think that this is a great value setup that you could be using and if you’ve watched some of our previous videos where we talked about money and whatnot in customizing, obviously you can say that it would be an investment that you’ll quickly be able to recoup and just a couple more things that you may be wondering about the air brush do you need to break it down. After every single color or at the end of every single day, all I do in between colors spray some air brush cleaner and you’re ready to move onto the next thing you just need to make sure that you’re spraying out nice and clear in between colors and then you’re ready to move on to the next color at the end of the day I don’t really break down the gun, it’s not worth it to me at the end of the day to completely break it down clean it these things are workhorses they hold up well if you ever need to replace any parts, they’re cheap enough that you can quickly swap those out, and if the gun ever completely fails like we said in the beginning it’s only an eighty Dollar gun that you could quickly swap out I always have a couple of these laying around just in case anything ever fails that can quickly move on to the next one.
